Accessibility Declaration

Issued by Evionica Sp. z o.o., registered at Plac Bankowy 2, 00-095 Warsaw, Poland, this declaration pertains to the Best Pilot system, accessible via dashboard.bestpilot.com and app.bestpilot.com. It is published in accordance with the Act of 26 April 2024 implementing Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act), and outlines the system’s compliance status with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

Date of initial publication of the system: 1 July 2023
Date of last significant content or functionality update: As indicated in the latest entry on the Best Pilot Release Note Webpage

Scope of Declaration
This declaration applies exclusively to the Best Pilot system available at the URLs listed above. It does not extend to external websites or services integrated with the system.

1. Compliance Status

The system is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA due to specific exemptions and areas of non-conformity, as detailed below.

2. Basis for Exemption

2.1 Modules Restricted to Certified Aviation Personnel

Certain modules within the Best Pilot system are intended exclusively for certified aviation personnel—such as pilots, flight instructors, and Heads of Training—who meet the psychophysical requirements for flight operations as defined by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). These requirements include full visual and auditory capabilities, which are essential for the safe and effective performance of aviation duties.
Accordingly, access to these modules is limited to individuals who satisfy these criteria. As a result, specific accessibility features—such as full screen reader support—have not been implemented in these areas.
In accordance with Article 5 of the Accessibility Act of 26 April 2024, modules designed for a narrowly defined user group with high psychophysical requirements are exempt from the obligation to ensure full digital accessibility. This exemption reflects the limited applicability of such modules to persons with disabilities.
Nevertheless, the system continues to observe core principles of user experience (UX) and responsive design to ensure a consistent and functional interface for all eligible users.

2.2 Modules Accessible to General Users

Modules intended for administrative and support staff—such as:
  • Schedule management
  • User account management
  • Financial panel
  • Reports and statistics
  • SMS – Safety Management System
—have been developed in accordance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Where non-conformities exist, corrective actions have been initiated and are being tracked.

3. Identified Non-Conformities

The following issues have been identified through internal audits and testing:
  • Text Alternatives (WCAG 1.1.1): Certain clickable elements lack alternative text descriptions.
  • Color Contrast (WCAG 1.4.3 / 1.4.11): Some text-background combinations do not meet minimum contrast requirements.
  • Responsiveness / Reflow (WCAG 1.4.10): Specific screens do not adapt correctly to varying resolutions and viewport sizes.
  • Visible Focus (WCAG 2.4.7): Focus indicators are insufficiently visible in some interface elements.
  • Keyboard Navigation (WCAG 2.1.1): Navigation via keyboard is limited or unavailable in certain areas, particularly within lists and calendar components.
  • Minimum Size of Interactive Elements (WCAG 2.5.8): Some links and icons have interactive areas smaller than the recommended 24×24 pixels.
  • Clear Labels (WCAG 2.5.3): Several interactive elements lack appropriate labels, such as aria-label, aria-labelledby, or tooltips.
  • Focus Appearance (WCAG 2.4.13): Focus styling does not meet current visibility standards and may be too faint or unclear.

4. Remediation Plan

All identified issues are documented and tracked via the Best Pilot Release Notes Webpage. A comprehensive audit and scope agreement with the development team will guide the prioritization and resolution of non-conformities.

5. Legal Basis and Evaluation Methodology

This declaration is based on the following evaluation methods:
  • A self-assessment audit conducted in accordance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA
  • Automated testing tools (e.g., Accessibility Insights for Web by Microsoft)
  • Semantic HTML code analysis
  • Manual testing, including keyboard navigation and screen reader compatibility

8. Mobile Application Accessibility

The Best Pilot mobile application, developed using Progressive Web App (PWA) technology, is intended solely for certified aviation personnel who meet the medical and psychophysical requirements defined by aviation regulations (EASA/ULC).
Due to the closed nature of the application and the limited user group, certain mobile functionalities do not meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA requirements.
These modules are exempt under Article 5 of the Accessibility Act of 26 April 2024.

9. Architectural Accessibility

Not applicable. The Best Pilot system is an online platform and does not involve physical infrastructure or premises accessible to users.

10. Declaration Date and Review Cycle

  • Date of declaration preparation: 12 August 2025
  • Next scheduled review: Annually, or upon significant system updates.
