Creating a new flight or copying an existing flight as a troubleshooting step
Troubleshooting flight data issues by creating or copying a new flight
Overview
In the Evionica Weight & Balance (W&B) application, creating a new flight can be an effective troubleshooting step when encountering issues such as incorrect calculations, missing data, synchronisation errors, or unexpected system behaviour.
This article explains when and how to create a new flight, and what to consider before doing so.
When to Use This Troubleshooting Step
Creating a new flight is recommended in the following situations:
- Integration issues (eg, DCS, EFB, etc.)
- Passenger, baggage, or cargo data is not updating properly
- Aircraft configuration changes are not reflected
- A saved flight becomes unresponsive or corrupted
- Synchronisation issues between devices or systems occur
- Flight number or route update
Important Considerations Before Proceeding
Before creating a new flight, ensure the following:
- Data backup: Note or screenshot critical flight data (passengers, baggage, fuel, special loads)
- Flight status: Confirm the flight is not already finalised or operationally active
- Root cause check: Verify whether the issue is isolated or system-wide
Note: When copying a flight, payload data is also copied, but not distributed.
